Ivy's Journey to Education.....

Born in a peaceful town of Nasipit, Agusan del Norte on 8-13-84, this lady started singing well even before she could start talking. The youngest among the brood of six, she was often referred to as the unexpected child, her, being born 18 years after her brother and just when all of her cousins were all off or just starting school. She became everybody's darling. The one little girl expected to churn out talents after talents to give joy to the old folks come any family gathering. But music caught her hook, line and sinker. She religiously learned how to play the piano and the guitar. Thus, began her own journey into the world of music. From the tabletops, to small school stages and now in the platform being a music teacher.
Never an event go without her belting a song during elementary days. In high school, she got immersed in a Thespian organization in the school she attended, furthering her knowledge in music and arts. She joined church-related activities where her talent in singing and playing the piano and guitar were very much needed and welcomed.
Armed with indomitable spirit, confidence, ability to play musical instruments, a breezy attitude to life in general and encouragements from family, this lady naturally gravitated to music-related courses during college. She took up Bachelor of Music major in music Education, at Lourdes College in Cagayan de Oro City. she became a member of Music Society in school. Became friends with fellow students who love music. College was indeed fun and educational but unforeseeable and difficult situation forced her to leave school with only her piano recital remaining.
She went back home and took up Bachelor in Secondary Education major in Music (major in MAPEH) at Father Saturnino Urios University in 2007. Her musical talent did not go unnoticed by her mentors, and right after she finished her course and even before she took the Licensure Examination for Teachers, the university absorbed her as one of the music teachers in its high school department lasting about 3 years.
She got married on June 08,2010, and as she settled down to a new chapter in her life, her passion for music never diminished thus, she decided to teach in the locality. She applied at DepEd and was accepted in one of the biggest secondary highschools in Agusan del Norte. On her first year of service, she formed a choral group, trained students, joined and conducted musical contest in and out of the Division. Winning the NAMCYA 2011 was one of her shining moments.

And last June 27, 2013, they won 2nd place in NAMCYA 2013, RONDALLA CATEGORY.
